Benefits of Reading and Learning Of Holy Quran

  • 29 Jul, 2019

Indeed, to speculate on Allah’s verses is a form of adoration that will make one close to Allah SWT. This speculation is not a wandering and reckless one. Instead, it contains a study of the Hellenic Tafseer of the verses being reflected over. This would actually execute Ibnul-Qayyim’s advice, “such as pondering over a book which a person has memorized and he sets it forth so that he may get to know what its author purposes by it.”

Sure the Book of Allah is not a book like any other. It is a dateless speech of Allah, not a produced thing. In fact, it’s a study guide for life and death and the life hereafter. Thus, it deserves a more careful study than anyone else’s speech. It postulates that its reader return to the former narrations of those who manifested its revelation and heard its explanation by the one delegated by Allah to practice and explain HIS words to humanity. If a person is trying to reflect over the meanings of the verses without completing this study, it’s dangerous. For sure, the filth of the time that he lives in and his lack of knowledge of the right application and understanding that the early Muslims had would make him understand some things not actually meant by Allah SWT. As a result, he would go away from the right path, thinking to be revering Allah.

So, every genuine Muslim who hopes to earn Allah’s Mercy and loves reciting and pondering over Allah’s book will be able grip tight to the meanings explicated by the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam). They’d also be able to understand the meaning instructed by the companions and their direct followers, and the early scholars of Islam.

Here are some of the benefits of reading and learning the Quran.

Reading, Learning And Pondering Over The Qur’an Executes An Islamic Duty

The Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) summed up this religion with his saying: “The Religion is naseehah (sincerity)!” So at that time Tameem ibn Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “We iquired, ‘To whom?'” He said: “To Allah, HIS BOOK, His Messenger, the leaders of the people, and their common folk.” [Muslim]

The loyalty that is because of the book of Allah includes learning the rules of Tajweed, regular recitation and reading it in the best way, learning its Tafseer and the cause of its revelation. It also includes verifying that it is the Truth, the perfect speech of Allah and not self-created. The followers must defend it and honour it, standing by the orders.

The Holy Quran Will Be Convincing Evidence For Us On The Day Of Judgment

This is because of the statement by the Messenger: “And the Qur’an is a proof for you or against you.” [Muslim]

So, one of the two things will happen with this validation – the book of Allah. It will either be in your privilege a proof for you on that day when you will want every single good deed or it will be something against you. Who could be preserved from the scourges of that day if Allah’s speech is not in his favour? Think about it, dear Muslim brothers and sisters. Think about your place with the Qur’an! Are you ignoring it, contradicting it, being reckless of its orders and prohibitions? Do you think deeply over it? Do you feel it will be on your side on the Day of Judgement? Don’t make the Qur’an evidence against you on that day and ask forgiveness from the hellfire!

The Holy Qur’an Will Mediate For Us On The Day Of Judgement

The validation: Aboo Umaamah links up that the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) stated: “Read the Qur’an, for verily it will come on the Day of Judgement as an intercessor for its companions.” [Muslim]
